This Hanukkah, Alisal Ranch welcomes guests for a one-of-a-kind holiday dinner on December 17th hosted by Chef Suzanne Tracht. Known for her soulful, modern takes on Jewish comfort food, Chef Tracht brings warmth, tradition, and a touch of culinary magic to the Santa Ynez countryside. Join us for a two-night stay, December 17–19, 2025, and enjoy this unforgettable dinner plus all the experiences the ranch has to offer, from horseback rides and cozy fireside moments to seasonal activities and wide-open California skies.

Nicknamed “The Queen of Meat,” Tracht is a trailblazer among female chefs in a traditionally male-dominated field. She honors her Jewish heritage by adapting recipes for holidays—most memorably, the latkes she made with her father Sam, a story shared in the Los Angeles Times and on PBS SoCal. Tracht has been a defining presence in Los Angeles dining since opening JAR (Just Another Restaurant) in 2002. She was named a Food & Wine Best New Chef and has been celebrated by Jonathan Gold, the Food Network, and most recently inducted into the L.A. Times Restaurant Hall of Fame.

Please note: The 22 % Ranch Fee both helps offset the cost of various amenities made available to guests of the Alisal Ranch and funds additional compensation to the employees who provide service to our guests. The amenities provided include two branded water canteens, a bottle of wine in each room, Wi-Fi internet access, use of the fitness center, a shuttle to Solvang, bikes, scheduled and seasonal entertainment, tennis court use, fishing bait and tackle, use of non-motorized boats and aluminum boats at Alisal Lake, and various children’s activities, including the barnyard and kid’s arts and crafts. Part of the Ranch Fee is distributed to our service employees as additional compensation to eliminate the need for tipping at the Ranch.
