Women's Retreat

WILDWONDER™

October 6-9, 2024

We are excited to announce the fourth WILDWONDER™ retreat at Alisal Ranch and invite you to join us from Sunday, October 6 through Wednesday, October 9 as we cultivate our own Wild West community with a collection of inspiring women. For three nights, we celebrate the modern woman by learning from leading lady pioneers who tell their stories and share their skills with our guests through classes, demos, and more.

WILDWONDER™ features female artisans, chefs, winemakers, cowgirls, wellness leaders, and other fearless women. This Fall, we kick off our retreat with our Hatband Happy Hour. Come grab a drink with Ashley Hollister of T.W. Hollister and CO and pick out your Lovely Bird hat. Embark on a spiritual journey with Jasmine Hanson with morning yoga by the lake. We are excited to welcome back Jeanne Kelley for a lunch demo followed by a fabulous meal with recipes from her cookbook Vegetarian Salad for Dinner. Get ready to nurture your mind, body and spirit through manifesting with the Firestone Sisters. Enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting with Sonja Magdevski of Casa Dumetz followed by dinner with Chef Heena Patel. Share morning tea with Emily & Anna of Leaves and Flowers and indulge in the intoxicating aromas from delicate flowers. Explore our marketplace featuring artisans like Tara Rose Toner. Join Jess Jones of Coyote Farm Studio as we make beautiful botanical imprints of flowers and plants onto a bandana and napkin set. To wrap up this amazing retreat, you’ll take home a WILDWONDER™ swag bag including guest chef cookbooks and more goodies. Every guest will get their own Lovely Bird hat.

Leaves and Flowers

Leaves and Flowers is a tea company based in San Francisco, California.  Our company celebrates the ancient, intrinsic relationship between humans and plants. Our inspiration comes from the plants themselves – the mythology of their medicine, potent leaves, delicate flowersand the intoxicating aroma and flavor they release when infused. We keep our ingredients as whole and intact as possible. As they infuse they in essence, re-bloom. Our botanicals and teas are ethically sourced and sustainably harvested, with reverence to the land and farmer.

Leaves and Flowers was founded in 2014 by friends, Anna Morton and Emily Erb, in Berkeley, California.

We are Santa Barbara based sisters who have our own business, Firestone Sisters, Inc. Harnessing Mary’s Master’s degree in Psychology and Lucy’s life coaching skills, we have been producing retreats in luxury settings for over ten years encouraging women to seize their most ecstatic lives by nurturing their minds, bodies, and spirits. Seeing women walk away reinvigorated and connected to their own authentic radiance inspired us to create our own intentional fragrance line.

Winemaker

I approach my work with a lifetime of exquisite flavors, travels and experiences.  A journalist by training and now a winemaker by passion, I am regularly inspired to never quit searching for that moment – the instant where it all makes sense.  The two professions also continue to challenge me whether through words or wine, to craft timeless stories that are better when shared with others.  I have discovered that winemaking and writing are very similar pursuits – the story is in the grapes, the harvest, the people, and the season. Each year is a fresh renewal. My goal today is to create vibrant, balanced and pleasurable wines using the basic ingredients of premium Santa Barbara County fruit, dedication and hard work delivered with impeccable hospitality.

Heena Patel
Chef & Co-Owner of Besharam

Heena Patel is the chef and co-owner of Besharam, a regional Gujarati restaurant in San Francisco’s Dogpatch district. Roughly translated to mean “shameless,” Besharam features Heena’s bold interpretation of the flavors and dishes that were prevalent throughout her childhood in India, playfully reimagined within a California context. Since the restaurant’s opening, Heena has received local and national attention for her fearless style including recognition as a James Beard Foundation Awards Best Chef California semifinalist in 2022, and accolades from Eater San Francisco as the Restaurant of the Year in 2019. Most recently, Heena was named the 2024 San Francisco finalist for the first annual Gold Chef Prize Awards, celebrating leading Asian Pacific chefs. At Besharam, Heena offers an experience that is unmistakably hers, while paying homage to her heritage and every chapter that has informed the journey to this moment.

Jasmine Hanson
Yoga Teacher

Upon completion of her first yoga teacher training in Santa Ynez, Jasmine embarked on a spiritual journey to India to study the more traditional modes of yoga and yoga training.

Jasmine weaves foundational breathwork throughout her classes, applying ancient wisdom to our contemporary western world in a useful and tangible way. Her goal is to encourage and support growth of the physical and spiritual self; citing the interconnectedness to each other, the world, and the universe.

Jasmine aims to give her students a safe place to befriend their body and reclaim their mind, offering a space to return to again and again by bringing awareness to breath and body.

Ashley W Hollister
Wednesday, November 13th

Grounded in my love for wild rugged California coastal botanicals having spent my childhood in Malibu and a shared commitment with my husband to his family’s over century history agriculture in CA, I embraced the challenge of creating a winery focused on products that highlight the native botanicals of the Gaviota Coast- and so was born T.W. Hollister & Co. aperitifs. Guided by our philosophy of using natural and native ingredients, we craft products that echo our values of environmental stewardship.

Our products are distinctly American-made, leveraging superior ingredients grown on our legacy lands to offer not just a drink, but an experience steeped in authenticity and quality.

At our heart- through T.W. Hollister & Co., we are not just preserving a legacy but building a future where each bottle curates a beautiful story worth sharing — a celebration of the past and a toast to the bright future.

Jaime Haskell
Lovely Bird

When Jaime Haskell became a mother her entire routine change. While she once had time to intentionally select what she would wear, now each morning required a grab ‘n’ go outfit and little time for anything else. Before long, Jaime noticed a gap in the women’s fashion industry as she struggled to find hat’s that would elevate her classic wardrobe of tees and jeans. As a solution , she founded Lovely Bird in 2012. By designing hats that complement the modern woman’s lifestyle and hand finishing accents inspired by her travels, Jaime showers each Lovely Bird hat with the attention and love you deserve, whoever you are, wherever you wear it.

Tara Rose Toner

Tara Rose Toner is a classically trained artist. Upon receiving her BFA in Studio Art from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she returned to her beloved hometown of Montecito, California. Tara channels her love of life, adventure and nature into her versatile range of artwork. The beauty and diversity of natural environments ignite her passion to paint plein air oil landscapes. Her brother’s travels by horseback on pack rides and to rodeos inspired her western artwork that has been featured in the annual Slopoke Western Art Show. In addition, she has held solo exhibitions throughout the central coast featuring her female series oil paintings. 50 pages of Tara’s original watercolor paintings are featured in her published children’s book, A Baby Is Born in Santa Barbara.
